The Kingdom of God is an Ecosystem

It seems that the Kingdom of God has a way of sneaking up on me when I am least expecting.  It may occur during a brief but meaningful encounter with another, sometimes it happens when I am listening to music and it moves me with a personal application in the moment, or at other times I will see the beauty in something that I have looked at often.  In these experiences I realize that I don't have the Kingdom of God, the Kingdom of God has me.  I'm sure that you too have been surprised by God.

I am reminded of the words of Fredrick Beuchner. "By no means will they (Godly people) themselves bring about the Kingdom of God.  It is God alone who brings about his Kingdom...We cannot make the Kingdom of God happen, but we can put out leaves as it draws near.  We can be kind to each other.  We can be kind to ourselves.  We can drive back the darkness a little.  We can make green places within ourselves and among ourselves where God can make his Kingdom happen."

Scripture

"As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."

Isaiah 55:10-11
